About Disarming Design from Palestine
Disarming Design from Palestine is an inclusive design label that presents useful products from Palestine. From wearable fashions to kitchenware, office supplies and table games and more, all items are equally thought-provoking as they are functional. This collection represents Palestinian culture in its current reality, unveiling disarming views on life under occupation. The products are cultural objects narrating their own context. The goods are developed, designed and made in Palestine by contemporary designers, artists and students in collaboration with local producers and artisans. The unique designs are presented and sold locally and internationally through pop-up stores, exhibitions and a webshop. (Producers are paid according to fair trade standards and Palestinian artists and designers receive royalties for the sales of their products. Any profit that would be made by the sales will be invested in the development of new designs through the organisation of yearly create-shops in Palestine.)
